Michael Terry is a freelance musician living in the northern suburbs of Atlanta, GA, where he works as an assistant band director at Elkins Pointe Middle School.  Michael holds a Bachelor of Music in Music Education from Kennesaw State University.  In 2015, Michael began working with the newly formed Kennesaw State University Marching Owls as a music/visual technician and as the staff arranger, a position he still holds.

Michael performed as a member of The Cadets Drum and Bugle Corps from 2000-2007 as a baritone player. During his tenure at The Cadets, Michael was a featured soloist and the corps was crowned DCI World Champions in 2000 and 2005 (also winning the Jim Ott award for excellence in brass in those years).  Michael was twice named "Cadet of the Year" (2005, 2007).  From 2010-2013, Michael served as a member of the brass faculty for the Troopers Drum and Bugle Corps, based in Casper, WY.  In 2014, Michael served as the Brass Co-Caption Head for the Spirit of Atlanta Drum and Bugle Corps, based in Atlanta, GA. Michael returned home to The Cadets as a member of the brass staff in 2015, teaching the mellophones.  Michael was awarded "Rookie Staff Member of the Year", and the Cadets hornline won the Jim Ott award for excellence in brass performance at the DCI World Championships.

Michael is also the staff music arranger and show designer for the 250+ member Kennesaw State University Marching Owls.

As an arranger/composer, Michael has written for high school marching bands across the country and in China, as well as college chamber ensembles.
